Question about OneStay NYC

I am about to book what looks like a great unit with company called OneStay NYC. Has anyone ever stayed with them before? Was your experience as good as advertised?

The VAST majority of vacation rental apartments in NYC for less than 30 days are illegal or scams. You will need a hotel or hotel style apartment. Do not book!

Is this for a long term stay? > 30 days? If not, it's trouble. Read LMV's link, other info in the Top Questions section, and do a forum search for vacation apartments to read endless discussions and warnings.

If it's for a longer term stay, have you googled this company? I can't even find it. Not a good sign.

I stayed with them last month in the East Village; booked through HomeAway. Apartment was quite nice, staff was a little more responsive then different hosts I booked with in Los Angeles over the years and.. overall a good experience and plan on using them again for future biz trips... The booking process was a little annoying as they insisted I sign, fax or scan a rather lengthy agreement and send id/passport which seemed like a lot of work.. And they only took my payment through Paypal or certified check and would not take my Amex directly which was also a little annoying.
