I am going with my mom for her 54th birthday and since browsing this website, I'm doubting my itinerary. :/
This is my mom's 1st time in NYC, and my 3rd. But, I've only been with school groups so this is different.
I still haven't booked our hotel (spontaneity!) but when I do it'll probably be midtown somewhere. Im very tempted by the boutique hotels and prices of the hotel tonight like apps, but Im worried that might be a bad idea...
I have a lot packed into Friday, trying to keep things by area, but Im worried we won't get to it all. Or more likely, I'll be tired/grumpy and want a drink. We probably won't hang out after the Ferry for too long, is it possible to get good pics on the ride?
I still am debating the place to eat in Chinatown. I love chinese, but I also love cafe habana's corn...so the time isn't really working out. Maybe we can just grab a snack, and eat dinner somewhere in Greenwhich Village? Ugh.
Is that Marie Crisis place worth a trip? I think I read about it on here, but Im not sure it's a place to take my ma. Showtunes karaoke sounds basically like my everyday life though...
If no on that, or it's a bust that night, any other night-life suggestions to go with my mom? Something low key again, but we definitely want to get out. Im a little at a loss for this.
For Saturday: Not sure what else is worthy to do, we're going to people watch, eat and SHOP. Should I flip the plans a bit, so we can do top of the rock after dark and the museums during the day? Also, breakfast and lunch suggestions for that day would be appreciated. We're pretty low key, even street food if it's not too sketchy.
What is the wait time usually at the Comedy Cellar and the UCB? We don't have much stand up around here and Im really excited to see some. Would it be possible to see an early UCB show and then hop in a cab, eat something greasy, and then catch the late show show at the Comedy Cellar? Would that be alot?
I booked a rez for Sunday brunch at Sarahbeth's...But then I found out its a chain..womp womp. Might try to upgrade that...
