girls' weekend Nov 15-17

Any special tips for the weekend of Nov 15-17? Have already seen Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Letterman show.

We arrive late on the 14th, so time for check-in and then hit a bar or two near Robert Smith Hotel - suggestions?

Friday - shopping and Kinky Boots.

Saturday - no plans. Would love some suggestions - maybe a jazz club in the evening.

Sunday - flight leaves at 9pm so need suggestions for final day in the city.

Thanks.

Dizzy's Coca Cola Jazz Club for Jazz. You can also have dinner there and it has amazing views.

You need to be more specific for recommendations. What do you like doing? Where else have you already been because the three places you've mentioned don't even scratch the surface. Central Park and Greenwich Village immediately come to mind as must do if you haven't already.

Post some more specifics so you can help us help you.

We like to eat (Italian, American food, sushi) have a few cocktails (martinis, wine), listen to music (jazz, light rock, country, pop), shop, people-watch. We also like to relax and be pampered.

We plan to walk through Central Park.

Going to Kinky Boots and hope to get tickets to another show while we're there (would LOVE to see Betrayal).

It's the ROGER Smith Hotel I assume? You're not far from the Kimberly hotel which has a rooftop bar with views. In the other direction, you could go to Campbell Apartments inside Grand Central. Or walk over to Bryant Park and have a drink either in Celsius overlooking the skating rink or at Bryant Park Grill.

On Saturday, what about a walking tour of an area you don't know?

Or what about one of the museums? The Brooklyn Museum has a show on Jean Paul Gaultier

You could combine a visit to the Brooklyn Flea with the Brooklyn Museum and brunch in Brooklyn. You might even stop at the TKTS booth in Brooklyn and see what they have for that night. Brooklyn Flea is in different locations depending on the day you go.

Maybe head to the High Line, Chelsea Market and meatpacking district on one day.

Agree that Dizzy's Coca Cola is a great idea. For other jazz clubs, look at the jazz bible on

bigapplejazz.com

or maybe consider one of their jazz tours.

+1 for the High Line. Would be good for last day.

For sushi, the NYT had this article about new, "hip" places:

Rather than go to the TKTS booth, stop by NYC & Co on west side of 7th near 53rd. It's the official storefront for the NYC Tourism Bureau & they have discounts that you can take directly to the box office. You could also get a discount on your smartphone (if you have one) from one of the online discount sites & show the code to the box office person.

Here's the 411 on discounts with links: tripadvisor.com/Travel-g60763-c1146/New-York…

I usually check more than one site as different discounters have different discounts.
