Lunch before or after the Cloisters...with a car

Yep, I'm finally heading to the Cloisters for the first time! New Leaf Cafe won't be open. Any other ideas for a nice lunch? We will have a car. I've been told about Indian Road Cafe in Inwood.

Ok, I just needed to buy some time to check out the locations

I know someone who has ties to Union Square Café and while talking to him (today in fact) he told me about this place called Restaurant North about 30 mins north of the Cloisters. Its one of those Upstate Farm-to-Table places popping up in bunches lately, headed by 2 Union Square Café veterans. Just an idea

Yes, that's in Armonk, farther than we'd like to go. Maybe something 30 mins. south? In Harlem? Washington Heights? Inwood?

Have only ever eaten at the New Leaf, sorry Whiz.

Although a friend was recently raving about this new place in Harlem:

Looks fabulous! It's a little unclear though whether they're open for lunch. In one spot it gives hours that include lunch but when you go to book, the hours are only for dinner. Maybe they don't take lunch rezzies. I'll phone later.;)

Well, you know me. Food first, cloisters second. Living in SI, 30 minutes is a short distance.

And I've been itching lately to go to one of those Hudson farm to table places up there.

Another option is UWS where things starting to get interesting (as oppose to Washington Heights). RedFarm just opened there only for lunch
