Hello all, Our Christmas and New Year trip is fast approaching, we fly 6 weeks on Monday!
I have had a really productive week, with lots of things booked. Our NYE plans are booked and finalised. Just trying to decide on a restaurant before hand, but we are spoilt for choice – so really need to just pick one!
We have decided on our Christmas Day evening restaurant and also our Christmas Eve restaurant – just waiting for both places to accept our reservation, as we are a little too early at the moment, should be able to book them in the next two weeks or so….
I have also booked the Radio City Christmas Spectacular – using a fab discount code obtained from this forum – thank you! Saved me lots of $$$.
I have booked a comedy club for Dec 26th and researched a number of restaurants near by, as well as some bars! So we are all set for that too - see I have been busy!
Ok, yep there is a question coming soon….. We are hoping to visit Top of The Rock during Christmas week, and time it just right so we can see the sunset. I am hoping not to have to book a particular day, as we’d like to keep it flexible (based on weather, temperature etc), so I am just wondering if TOTR is likely to be very busy during Christmas Week…? Do you think we could just turn up and chance it or will we be caught in a looooong queue…..?
Also we are hoping to walk the High Line, the Brooklyn Bridge and also visit Gantry Plaza in Queens. Would we be crazy to do these in late December….?
It is still very mild here in the UK, and I am struggling to get my head around the fact it is likely to be FREEZING in NYC at Christmas. Having visited in early Jan a couple of years ago, I know first hand how cold it can get in the city. Brrr – never been so cold in my life! But Central Park covered in frost was just the most beautiful sight to see.
Finally - would someone kindly post a link to info on caroling in Washington Square Park on Christmas Eve, we are hoping to be in the area for food, so it would be fab to swing by the park and join in the festivities if we can time it right....
Any other Christmas & New Year Visitors on countdown…? I love to hear your plans…
Thanks as always
