Hotel room for 3 in NYC

Hi,

we are three adults looking for a either a 3 bed hotel room or 2 bed plus sofa bed room. Budget is $500 per room per night max. We will be travelling September/October 2014. Any suggestions/recommendations please?

For the best help, you'll need to post your exact dates, not approximate time period. Hotel prices fluctuate from one day to the next.

Sept-Oct is a pricey time in general. Some dates will be significant pricier than others. If you haven't yet determined your exact dates, the forum can help you avoid some big events that drive up prices.

Some places to check out:

- Off Soho Suites. Apartment style 1 br suites with two twin beds and a pull out sofa bed (futon)

- Affinia.com has a number of apartment style properties and some will have two beds plus sofa bed

Also RadioCityApts.com, NYCSalisbury.com, the Beacon Hotel, the Doubletree Times Square, Best Western Hospitality, the Marriott Marquis, Courtyard Midtown East, the Kimberly, the Lucerne, the Hotel Belleclaire.

Quite a few others as well. If you provide more precise info, you may get additional recommendations. Do you have any preference for where in Manhattan you would like to stay?

I had hope September/October would be quieter as summer holidays have finished and thought it would get busy up to Christmas, I don't have specific dates yet but probably looking at the first two weeks in October as we don't want it to be too cold. Thanks for the recommendations, will look into these, have not got an area in mind as have never been to NY before. Would like to be able to just walk out of hotel and find places to eat/drink on the doorstep, but as I am thinking this might be just about everywhere.

NYC isn't just a family tourist destination. In fact, prices are lower in the summer, despite it being a popular time for family travel.

Sept/Oct has beautiful weather so it's actually a very popular time for tourism, but there are many other factors that create demand for NYC hotel rooms during this time period.

Yes, NYC isn't a resort town, and as such summer is significantly cheaper for hotel rooms than the fall, when business travel picks back up. If you're hoping to save money, you might consider rethinking your schedule.

Comfort Inn Chelsea and the Wolcott are 2 places with rooms with 3 proper beds, but basic budget hotel. With your budget, you might be able to get a 2 bedroom suite at say the Best Western Hospitality which includes breakfast and is like an apt.

That, I don't know. It was hard enough finding a room with two single beds last year!

Last time we were there, we stayed at the Westin Grand Central. Good room, good price. You can stay in one room for 3 people. Ask about a roll away bed and what the charge would be. It's a crap shoot as to which one will be the best rate…research is the key and your location. September/October will be busy…fun street fairs in the fall.
