Tickets before we go? To buy or not to buy?

Hello,

Me and my boyfriend are coming to NYC in March from the UK, we was wondering whether it is worth buying some attraction tickets beforehand?

For example - 9/11 Memorial Tour, Statue Cruises, TOTR, ESB, Intrepid Museum, Hop on/Hop off bus.

Coming from the UK, what is the best website to book the above? Their own website or someone like www.newyorksightseeing.com ? As these are American websites, is it OK booking from the UK?

One last question, are there taxi ranks located outside attractions?

Thank you!

the Memorial and the Statue cruises: yes, do (definitely only via their own websites!)

other things you mentioned: not so much, pick a convenient day on the spot

taxi stands: no (subway stations are usually close)

We go out in February, we've booked tickets for the memorial, Statue of Liberty. We also booked the unscheduled tickets for TOTR & ESB so we can go at any point while we are there.

Thank you both. Where did you buy from? Will the USA website take UK cards?

I've also booked my Statute of Liberty ticket on www.statuecruises.com (the official website). Yes, they take UK credit/debit cards.

I will also be booking for TOTR with www.topoftherocknyc.com. I am sure they will also take our cards too.

Why get taxis when you can get the subway for a fraction of the price?

No.

The best way to get around NYC to see the attractions is by subway.

BTW - I booked my March tickets in November - you need to get your skates on as they sell out fast.

They do take UK cards however as I did all the transactions in one go when I attempted to do the last of them the bank had put a hold on my card as they were concerned the transactions were fraudulent.

I used the official sites for all my tickets, there are plenty of sites that seem to offer deals but went with the official sellers.
