Arthur Avenue/The Bronx tips please

Hi All

I want to explore other areas and not just spend my visit in Manhattan. I don't know much about the Bronx but I heard that Arthur Ave is a good place to start? Could anyone please give me specific tips? And also, where else is good in The Bronx in this weather?! Thank you all.

Arthur Avenue is close to the Fordham University campus and the area is frequented by the students. Many Italian restaurants abound.

Some people claimed that Arthur Avenue is a more authentic "Little Italy" than the one in Manhattan.

Close by is the New York Botanical Gardens (http://www.nybg.org/) and the Bronx zoo (http://www.bronxzoo.com/).

The Botanical Gardens have held many special exhibitions in the past such as the annual Orchid show, the Dale Chihuly special exhibition etc.
