Travelling from Manhattan-Coopertown Baseball Hall of Fame

Hi all

I will be staying at La Quinta in Manhattan and would like to visit Coopertown Baseball hall of fame. Would like to find out how can I get there via public transport as we have no intention to rent a car.

Thanks in advance!

There are buses from New York Port Authority. Start with www.greyhound.com

And when you do your bus search, remember that the town is "Cooperstown."

You're in luck also because the Hall of Fame is right in the center of town so you don't need to have transportation while you're in town. It is a several hour drive so I would look into getting a hotel for a night or two.

I would really look into renting a car and driving, The bus does not go directly and arrives at about 5pm and I think leaves fairly early in the mornming

If you drive you can leave early and be there in about 4-5 hours

It appears to be a estimated 3 1/2 hour drive, much of it on secondary roads. http://goo.gl/maps/mizVu

Since we don't know which season the OP is planning to travel and they have a stated desire not to rent a car the bus is probably a viable option.

They might also explore the option of an overnight: http://www.thisiscooperstown.com/

It takes me about 4 hours from Queens to Cooperstown, I tend to drive fast.

There are 2 ways to go, I do take the secondary route (Route 28) , You can take Throughway to Albany and then take I-88 to Oneonta then Route 28 to Cooperstown. Probably easier for people not familar with roads

I just want to say there is so much more to Cooperstown than just the HOF (which is great, btw, we went in two 2-hour shifts, broken up by lunch, and we did not see everything). Art Museum, Ommengang brewery, Farm Museum, and such a cute little town. Shame to just dash in and dash out.
