2 night rental for self catering apartment New York

I have heard that Williamsburg or Brooklyn are good places to stay for easy access via the Grey Line into downtown New York. Can anyone recommend some reliable, legal accommodation in either of these areas or a reasonable hotel near to a metro station on the grey line? Many thanks.

You don't want to use the Gray Line tourist buses for your general transportation. The subway is far more efficient.

There are very few legal short-term apartment rentals in NYC. There are some legal apartment style hotels in Manhattan. I don't know whether there are any in in Williamsburg or other convenient areas of Brooklyn, but perhaps someone will have a suggestion.

If you would like advise on where to stay, provide your exact dates (prices fluctuate), budget per night in USD (note that taxes will add ~15%), number of people and number of beds needed. If your budget is low, also include which airport you will be using. Recommendations outside of Manhattan will vary depending on your airport.

If a full kitchen is not all that important for your two night stay, you'll have far more choices.

When the OP says "the Grey Line", I think s/he means the L subway line, which is gray on MTA maps.

jazzieface - we refer to the subway lines by their letters or numbers, not their colors. :)

As Christnp2 says, most apartment rentals in NYC are illegal, so it you post your exact dates, max budget, and number of people/sleeping configuration needed, the hotel experts on forum can try to give you some suggestions.
