Airtrain at Sutpin blvd/Archer ave

We are planning on staying at Howard Johnson on Archer ave the night before our flight back to the UK. Am I right in that we can get the airtrain from Sutpin/archer station to JFK airport? How long will this journey take at 5am in the morning ?

Thank you for your help.

There is no valid reason to change hotels to be near the airtrain. You will be wasting a huge amount of vacation time checking into one hotel and out of the other.

Sounds like they might just be transitting thru NYC rather than visiting here. The AirTrain runs 24/7. Google maps says the trip is 25 mins. but I think it should be more like 10-15 mins.

You will pay $5/person for the AirTrain from Sutphin Blvd. if you stay at a JFK airport hotel like the Hampton Inn, the hotel shuttle takes you to the Federal Station stop where you pay nothing. Just saying.

I can see staying nearby if you really need to be at JFK by 5.30 AM. The Airtrain runs every 12 minutes or better at that time. The frequency is shown near the bottom of this map.

If you stayed in Manhattan, you would have to give yourself an extra hour to get a late night schedule train to the Airtrain (not pleasant; the trains run only every 20 minutes overnight, and then it's a 40 minute ride to Jamaica).
