Multiple one bedroom apartments Times Square

We have a party of 8 adults travelling to New York in October 2014. We are trying to source the best accommodation without paying hotel prices.

I was wondering if anyone knows of one bedroom apartments / rooms that are available all in one complex? Like a hotel, but privately owned, like on airbnb. That way we can all stay together.

Ideally we would like to stay in the Times Square area.

Can anyone help with this!? Thank you

Renting apartments for under 30 days in NYC is generally illegal.

Once again - apartments for renting for less than 30 days all almost all illegal in NYC. A little research helps.

Not only is there a LAW against it you have to deal with each and every bldg that has there own Rules for sub lettting and short term rentals.

I don't live in NYC but my bldg has a rule against owners renting out our condos for less than ONE year. So aware that not only is there a law but each and every bldg has their own rules. And your neighbor will not hesitate to report you that you are staying there illegally because they will know.

Stay in a legal apartment style hotel or split up is the best advice.

And if you give your exact dates and nightly budget per night in USD the locals will help you. Knowing that October can be an expensive time.

You mention that you don't want to "pay hotel prices". That's just not going to be possible. You need a hotel.

The forum can be very helpful with identifying good options. Think about whether a regular hotel room will suffice, or whether you really want apartment style with kitchen. I have a feeling that you don't care so much about apartment style.

For the best help, provide

- Exact Dates (prices fluctuate)

- Number of people in each room and number of beds they will need.

- Max budget in USD per room per night. It's fine to provide a range. Note that tax will add ~15% to the base hotel price

- Would you be willing to consider rooms without a private bath?

The forum might be able to find some Manhattan suggestions, but staying just outside of Manhattan can be a great option. If your airport is JFK or LGA, there are good affordable options in Long Island City (Queens) that are just a quick subway ride into Midtown.
