Newark Airport to Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1605 Broadway/48th

We are leaving tomorrow for our first visit to NYC! Our original thought was to take the train (I think New Jersey Transit, correct?) but then I recall someone mentioning Newark Express Bus was a good alternative. The cost is comparable, but not sure which mode of transportation will get us to the hotel the quickest and hassle free. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated. Thanx!

Train is likely to be quicker even with the shuttle bus replacing the airtrain. Perhaps someone with recent experience will respond.

AirTrain Newark does not go offline until May 1.

It is still running through the month of April.

Train is fastest. AirTrain Newark / NJ Transit for $12.50 to New York Penn - that is the way to go.

The Pulaski Skyway toward NYC has closed for two years for construction and it is causing major traffic back-ups around here.
