LaGuardia to The Tryp Wyndham

Our group of 6, 3 moms & 3 teenage daughters, will be visiting NYC for the first time this June. We will be flying into LaGuardia on a Monday at 10:00 a.m. I have been reading about the Q70 and was wondering if that would be the best way for us to get to our hotel, The Tryp Wyndham at 345 West 35th Street. We will probably each have a suitcase and a carry-on bag with us. Any help with directions to the hotel would be appreciated. My other choice would be using Dial 7.

Easy trip in to Manhattan. You'd take the Q70 bus nonstop to the subway. Go downstairs and take an E train (bound for the World Trade Center) and get off at 34th Street (& 8th Avenue.) Get off toward the back of the train. You hotel is on W. 35th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, so pretty much right there.

Buy your Metrocard at the airport and your bus to subway transfer will be free. Assuming you'll be in New York for more than a few days you'll each want a weekly unlimited Metrocard ($31 per person) anyway, so the incremental cost of coming in from the airport on the bus and subway would be zero.

6 people is too many for one taxi, so you'd either need to book a larger vehicle or take two taxis, if you didn't want to use the bus/subway combination.

The Q70 is specifically set up for passengers to and from the airport, so it has luggage racks, which other bus routes would not.

I second the Q70 and subway. A easy and fun way to get introduced to NYC!
