>>>best time to be at the New York city<<<

Many will have different thoughts to this question. We have preferred visiting during December to enjoy the seasonal holiday atmosphere. Perhaps no other city in the world does Christmas alike NYC.

Difficult to say what is best for you to see as we don't know you personally. If you have a look at the TA listings 'Things to Do' for NYC, you can get a feel for popular attractions (see link) .

It is also well worth picking up a good travel guide. We like the DK Eyewitness full version and Top Ten versions. Their addition for NYC is pretty good.

Alas, do make use of the very good Top Questions (FAQ) on the right hand side of this forum. These offer much help and guidance for planning your trip to NYC. Enjoy your research!

What do you mean when you say the "best" time to visit?

The cheapest time would be January/February. But it can also be very cold then.

July and August also tend to be more affordable, but it's often very hot and humid in those two months.

The weather is often pleasant and lovely in May, June, September, and October - and hotels are more expensive during these months.

You might find things relatively affordable in March or April...but March and even early April are often still quite wintry; it can be mid-April before we start to get spring blooms.

November can be expensive at the beginning for the NYC Marathon and at the end for Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season. But maybe in-between? There are usually nice autumn colors through mid-Novermber. The weather won't be warm, but it's not usually bitterly cold either.

The first half of December is super expensive, but prices drop just before and over Christmas. Then they spike for New Year's Eve before falling in early January.

Hope this helps - if you let us know how much you think you can spend on a hotel and anything else that's important to you (weather, activities) we can try to offer further advice.

In order to give you best advice on accommodation, we'd need to know how many rooms/ beds you need and have an idea of what you hope to pay per night per person.

We are staying during Christmas week this year and have found hotel rates to be considerably cheaper than earlier in the month.

You need to define "best". Best prices? Best weather? Best variety of sporting events?

Nicest and most comfortable weather wise is April thru early June and end of September until early November. Summers are hot and humid, Winters are Cold.

Cheapest time to visit is January and February right after Christmas and New Years. Most expensive is during summer and during Christmas and Holiday season. There is no low or high season though in NYC really

Summer is not the most expensive time for NYC hotels. In fact, some summer dates are very economical (especially early July).

Early December is expensive. Right around Christmas (but before NYE) is less expensive.

Late Spring (May/June) and Autumn (Sept/Oct and early Nov) are expensive.
