SEPTA on strike

Those that take the economical route of NJT to Trenton and transfer to SEPTA for the trip into Philadelphia should note that SEPTA went on strike this morning. Amtrak would be the alternate route from Penn Station, NYC, to 30th St. Station, Philadelphia.

Fox - good to know - son traveling to Phila. Monday - not sure of his itinerary - but I know he will be using SEPTA at some point.

I'll tell him to keep up on the strike.

Thanks,

Note that some SEPTA services are still operating. The strike affects SEPTA's Regional Rail commuter trains, which mainly connect the suburbs and Philadelphia International Airport to Center City. That includes the Trenton line, which travelers to and from New York could normally use in conjunction with New Jersey Transit. The buses, subways, and trolleys in Philadelphia are all operating, with increased service to accommodate riders who normally use Regional Rail.

Obama just signed an order that will end the strike until February 2015 during which arbitration will take place.
