Errigal, you might want to become familiar with Google Maps. If you pull up the map for this hotel, you will see all the nearby subway stations indicated with a blue box with a white M, and the name of the station and the lines that stop there written next to it. Looking at the map will also show you how close the hotel is to the other things you want to see.

The nearest subway station is 50th Street on the E and C lines. From JFK, you would take the AirTrain to Jamaica, and then go downstairs to the subway and take the E train to 50th Street. Keep in mind, though, that the E train is two levels down at 50th Street, and there are no elevators. You will need to get your luggage up the stairs to the C train level, and then up to the street -- which may require stairs depending on the exit you use, although there is an escalator to the street all the way down at the downtown end of the C platform.

Great location for first trip to NYC. Very close to Broadway shows and easily walkable to Central Park and everything you want to see.

We stayed there recently, it definitely is a good hotel in a good location.

Only a few blocks to Central Park, and there is a good bagel shop on the way. Close to Times Square and the theatres, but not so close you get the manic crowds. Close to the C and E subway station, but we found most of the time we used the NQR line a block east.

One of the best things with this hotel was proximity to Hell's Kitchen and the great range of restaurants.

It's probably a 6 or 7 minute walk to both, depending on how lucky or unlucky you were with lights.

There is some road noise from sirens and horns but not enough to worry us - we were exhausted at the end of each day! No night clubs etc within earshot, so no issues there.

More on maps.google.com, If you bring it up and type your hotel name, zoom in on the neighborhood (but not too close) and type something like "restaurant", you'll see how many are nearby.

If you use the Directions feature, foro example from your hotel to Times Square, and hit the person icon, it will give you estimated walking times.

It's a good location :-)
