Central Park bike and picnic

Hi, in Sept it is our intention to hire a bike for an hour or two, cycling round and stop to eat a pre bought picnic. Can anyone recommend a nice place to stop? Are there places to lock our bikes up and do some walking, like the zoo etc?

Like I said we only intend to spend 1-2hrs.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

Hey FifiD11:-) With only an hour or 2, would reconsider renting bikes.. and just walk;) Your time spread will leave you barely enough time to check out the zoo and find a nice spot for your picnic lunch! Best.. and EnJOY!

Almost everywhere in Central Park is a nice place to stop. The Bethesda Fountain is especially nice, but really every park bench is nice to stop at.
