Subway plan advice needed

Planning to start one morning early by walking the brooklyn bridge from Brooklyn side back for the great views as recommended. Staying in LIC but G line is not running during our stay. Thinking of this route and would like to know if it makes sense to the experts or if there is a better route. Start at queensboro plaza and take the 7 to grand central station. Switch there to the 5 Lexington ave. Express and go to Fulton st.(only a few stops). Then switch to the A and take it over to Brooklyn to find the start of the bridge and walk over. Rest of day would be walking to south street seaport, wall street, ferry to staten island and then finish at 9/11 memorial. Just to be clear we are first timers to NYC but would maybe do this trip after getting a bit of practice on the subway on other days.

There are better routes. For one, you could start at Queensboro Plaza and take the N, Q, or 7 (whichever comes first) to Times Square. At Times Square change for the downtown 2 or 3 train (whichever comes first) and take that to Clark Street, which is the first stop in Brooklyn. If you want to start at the Queens Plaza subway station, take the E to 42nd Street, and change on that same platform for the A or the C train (whichever comes first), and take that to High Street (which is also the first stop in Brooklyn on those lines.).

The directions to the bridge from both Clark Street and HIgh Street stations are found in the FAQs to the right of this page ("How do I get to the Brooklyn Bridge?"); here is the link:

At Grand Central, you could take the 4(or 5.....just make sure it is going to Bklyn that day) down into Brooklyn to the Borough Hall stop(first stop in Bklyn.)

When you get off, you are in the municipal area/Borough Hall section of Brooklyn.

It is a nice walk through that area to Montague Street in the heart of Bklyn Heights. You could walk the Bklyn Promenade and see the skyline....head over to Brooklyn Bridge Park for more great views(bonus if this is a Sunday to experience the Brooklyn Flea/Smorgasburgh):

brooklynflea.com/markets/smorgasburg-dumbo/

From there, head to DUMBO and explore and then walk the bridge.

Many people leave off this interesting part of Bklyn when wanting to walk the Bridge.

You way works.....I would just suggest seeing more.

Just so you know, the Queensboro Plaza station is an elevated train station at the east end of the 59th Street Bridge. The Queens Plaza station is underground quite nearby.
