Flying out tomorrow for first visit - last minute advice??

We fly out tomorrow for 5 nights - v excited for our first visit.

We are staying at Ink 48 and have the following planned:

Empire State Building, baseball at Yankee Stadium, Central Park, shopping on 5th Avenue, High Line, Statue of Liberty, walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 museum, Mamma Mia on Broadway. Have we missed anything we should do on a first visit?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jo

If you have time, try to fit in Top of the Rock @ Rockefeller Center. Less crowded than ESB plus the views of Central Park <sigh & dreaming>

Enjoy & have a great time!

Don't forget to go to the rooftop bar on the top of Ink48, great views of the Hudson and midtown Manhattan. And also eat in Hell's Kitchen near where the hotel is located, one of the best neighbourhoods for great food of all varieties. Look at some recommendations here: eatingwithziggy.com/2013/…

And I can't believe you have not mentioned Times Square! Most first timers want to go there. If you don't then good for you. But if you do want to go, go at night to see the lights in their blazing glory and possibly time it when you are going to Mamma Mia.

And maybe visit Chelsea Market food and/or drink when you are walking the High Line. It's at 16th St.

And go to the Brooklyn Promenade when walking the BB. Awesome views of Manhattan and the BB.

Go to the roof bar (you probably knew that). Look at the back views as well

Visit Gotham West Market (try the whitefish Donburi).

Just as everyone above says but get to one of those places with the views as soon as is humanly possible because that first look… well, you will never forget that moment. Have a fantastic time.

+1 TOTR

a city HOHO open air bus tour is a good (best) way to get a lay of the land to get bearings. i use them in EU all the time including the UK

www.city-sightseeing.com website cant miss the colorful red busses

interested in film at all?

nyc.gov/html/…current_productions.shtml

considered a sunset cruise?

see circleline cruises out of pier 83

(or if you did the HOHO bus you can get a cruise package)

total insider info? on the best kept secret view of manhattan..

my personal fave view of the city is hamilton pk right over the hudson in weehawken nj off blvd east. is the best view of the manhattan skyline hands down. its free, anti-conjestion, and on the ground itself. very few places in the states to overlook a city from the ground. talk to port authority bus term on 8th and 40-42nd for njt bus info. well worth the short but easy trek and a great picnic spot. you wont be sorry. promise!
