What time of day to do Staten Island Ferry on a Saturday?

We will be traveling with young children. We, of course, want to see the Statue of Liberty, but don't particularly need a sunset view, or an evening view. I understand that this is NYC, and there is no such thing as "no crowds," but if there are slightly less busy times on a Saturday, that is what we are looking for. Thanks!

Early mornings would be less busy.

But it's such a big boat that you'd have no problems getting on at any time and getting a seat. I'd just work it into whatever your plans are for the rest of the day.

I agree. You have no idea how big this boat is :)
