Michelin star restaurants with no jacket required

Hi everyone,

Are there any Michelin star restaurants that do not require gentlemen to wear a jacket?

I'd love to try one but I don't want to bring along dressy clothes (I'm on vacation from suits and dress shirts after all!)

I would imagine Brooklyn Fare would be in that category.

An option would be enjoy them at lunch (and it is a little less expensive)-

Here is a list of decent casual lunchtime pre-sets w/ Michelin stars-

There are almost no NYC restaurants with absolute dress codes. 21 Club and Le Bernardin are among the few that still have them. Pick the places you want to go, and call them. 95% of your list will welcome you, just like they welcome the "new-money" hedge-fund guys in polo shirts. You and your money will be cheerfully welcomed. Especially at 1-Stars.

Unless you are in a ripped tee-shirt and torn jeans, they'll be glad to have you.

Most of them do not require jackets.

Haven't eaten at all of them, YET. But trying to work my way there. All great so far.

Danji in Hells Kitchen has one Michelin star, is very casual and you don't need a jacket there.

Obsoperator - I agree there are not very many with dress codes, but there are more than the ones you mentioned - Per Se, Jean Georges (although Nougatine, their bar room, does not), Le Cirque, Bouley, to name a few.

Here is a list of the Michelin starred restaurants in NYC:

michelintravel.com/michelin-selection/…

There are only a handful of restaurants with 3 Michelin stars, but many of them require a jacket - Daniel, Per Se, etc. However Eleven Madison Park does not.

Very few (if any?) of the restaurants with 1-2 Michelin stars require a jacket.

Enjoy!

You can eat very well in NYC with no jacket packed.
