NYC restaurants

A few restaurants I keep hearing about are: Spotted Pig, Menetta Tavern, II Gattopardo, Little Owl and Beauty & Essex. We will be in town for 5 days and would like to get in a variety of lunch/dinner places around the city. Does anyone have any first hand experience with any of the above?

re: Babbo

They do keep a few tables each night for walk ins. If you go at 6PM, and are only 2 people you will most likely get a table.

Food is very good, an experience.

"...If you go at 6PM, and are only 2 people you will most likely get a table...."

That would be very catch-as-catch-can as Babbo will first "tweet" folks if there is an availability...but give it a try, you never know. More likely is sitting at the bar and ordering a meal.

Molyvos is another Greek restaurant not far from Jersey Boys that's good. They have a pre theater $38 menu

If you like steak, Capital Grille in the Time Life building also near Jersey Boys has a $39 3 course pre theater menu with 2 steak options, lamb chops and salmon. You'd need a reservation at either.

I loved the Spotted Pig for Sunday breakfast.
