Brooklyn - Half Day

Can anyone suggest what subway station would be the best to go to Brooklyn. We only have a few days left in Manhattan and want to make it over there but only have enough time for half a day with other things we have booked. Any suggestions on what area is best would be appreciated. Thanks

Brooklyn is huge. Just about every subway goes to Bklyn. Very vague in your question.

-When are you coming?

-What day of the week do you want to visit Bklyn?

Ok...I would shoot for Sunday(better weather is expected.)

-Take the F train to Carroll Street. Exit and walk down Smith Street(with the traffic.)

-You will be walking through the Carroll Gardens and Boerum Hill areas of Bklyn. Loads of bars/restaurants/boutiques in this area. 2 of the great residential areas in Bklyn.

-When you get to Bergen Street, hang a left and walk up to Court Street. Then hang a right.

-You will walk through the Borough Hall/municipal area of Brooklyn and then to the heart of Brooklyn Heights.

-Keep walking. Hang another left on Montague Street. Another great area and one of the central blocks in Bklyn Heights.

-Keep walking and you will end at the Brooklyn Promenade. Have camera ready as you can see some of the best views of the NYC skyline from there. Walk along the promenade. You will probably see loads of tents and vendors set up below. That's Brooklyn Bridge Park.

-You want to make your way to Bklyn Bridge Park for the Brooklyn Flea/Smorgasburg:

-Eat/drink(beers way in the back) and enjoy the views.

-Then head back to the city.

The Smorgasburg starts at 11 so I would start my day in Bklyn at 9:30/10am.

Map of the area is below.

(The route in red is not what I described.)

Another option:

if you have children with you, take a trip to Coney Island(but they may not want to leave after a while.)
