4-day Itinerary: Your thoughts?

Good morning! I welcome your insights on our plan for our visit (Dec.26-29) to New York. Our group includes myself, husband, a 20-year-old and 16-year-old twins.

Dec.26:

Travel from Chicago to LaGuardia and arrive at noon

Carmel car service to Embassy Suites; arrange for bags to be stored;

visit WTC, Winter Garden, St. Paul's; buy Metro passes; check in at hotel

Free cocktails at hotel

8:30 dinner reservations at Virgil's BBQ

Dec. 27

Gray Line Tour of Manhattan 8:30 to 5:30

Cocktails (perhaps a hotel in the area. Any ideas?)

7:30 dinner reservations at Maria Pia

Dec. 28

TOTR reservation 10 a.m.

Walk and shop Fifth Avenue

Walk through Central Park

5 p.m. dinner reservations at Rachel's

7 p.m. Hairspray performance

Dec. 29

Wall Street area

South Street Seaport

Carmel car service to LaGuardia 4 p.m.

Return flight to Chicago 6:45 p.m.

Many thanks for any and all help.

I think that you have done a great job organizing your itinerary by location and not squeezing too much into one day. My only concern is day four. You are trying to squeeze TOTR, shopping, Central Park and getting ready for dinner into only five hours. You could easily spend five hours in Central Park alone!

Thanks, comfyjeans. I didn't plan for much shopping time since the three men in my family despise shopping. But we are going to walk around each night and look at the Christmas windows as well as the show at Grand Central Terminal.
