Air Force Museum can easily take a day. I would get there early and get your name in for a Presidential tour if you want to see the Air Force ones...have to take a bus as they are on a restricted part of the base but well worth it.
I have not been to Carillon in years so can't really comment much on it.
Staying in Fairborn and driving downtown should be fairly easy...about a 15 minute drive.
Pine Club is good but plan accordingly. They don't take reservations, they open at 4:30 as it is a dinner place and are closed on Sundays. Dress somewhat nice (think business casual). Also, take plenty of cash as they don't take cards. You can look at their menu/prices on their website but dinner for two can easily run $100.
Let me know if you would like more info on anything.Edited: 19 July 2012, 15:00
Carillion has added some new exhibits and I have heard it takes at least a half day to see it all. I know they have a great cafe' Culps, try the chocolate ice cream after lunch. Not sure of your price range but I would consider staying at the Marriott near Carillion Park and then you would be close to the wedding site also. Some spots in Fairborn can be a little dicey. Welcome to Dayton!
Great information. Thanks for the response, definitely will go for the Air Force one tour
Thank you for the reply and the welcome!
Considering Hampton Inn on Paramount Place in Fairborn (good reviews)
is that area OK?
That area should be fine, right across the street from Wright State university basically, and easy access to 675. You will have a lot of shopping and dining options in the vicinity and even more down Fairfiled Rd towards the Fairfield Commons mall.
Two Thumbs Up for the Presidential Tour. This may be the only time you ever visit, so make the most of it and do it!
I went to the Ronald Reagan Library last time I was out in Simi Valley, CA and they have a similar tour there of the plane and helicopter. No pictures allowed but it is a great walk through.
Pine Club, though, is a little overrated. Lots of better choices for the same meal (and much less $$$). I like the Paragon Club.
I personally don't care for the Pine Club, other than to sit at their bar for a drink. I think the Oakwood Club is MUCH better.....located on Far Hills Dr in the Shops of Oakwood, maybe 5 minutes from the Pine Club.
