DH and I had two longtime friends come for a visit this weekend. They wanted to see the new Sands casino.
We arrived at 1:30pm. Entry to the garage was easy as it was on our last visit. I was worried it would be crowded as is was a Sunday but it wasn't. Parking was very easy and they now have "signage" on the doors, indicating where the casino entrance is. The last time we were there it was a bit confusing as there wasn't any. We parked on the second level, and opted to just walk down the stairs as we did the last time.
Hubby and I went when it first opened so we already had our players cards. We told our friends to make sure and bring up a players card from any casino, as they could get $30.00 in free play by showing it. I was happy as I had $55.00 in free play coming to me and hubby had $25.00 based on our play from our previous visit.
My daughter also decided to take the short hour trip with us. Actually, it was less than an hour this time, as we were traveling in our brand new truck! It was like riding in a limo. :-) The line for the players club was incredible! It went straight down the wall and around to the other. I was going to get another card for myself, but when I saw the long line, I left my daughter and our two friends to venture off with hubby and play some Video poker.
We found 2 machines right away and settled in to play. Our daughter joined us approximately 30 minutes later. That was when we started doing well.
Our daughter was the first to hit a 4 of a kind, then hubby, then me! It was so much fun as it was only a row of 3 machines we were sitting at. The luck ran right down the line! Then, my daughter noticed hubby had changed from double double bonus poker to Triple bonus. She was comparing the payout tables for both games, and decided to try the Triple bonus poker.
After playing only two hands, she won $1,000! 4 aces with a kicker. She was over the moon! I was so happy for her.
It was time to meet at the Coil bar with our friends and see how everyone was doing. We decided to play until 5:30 and then have some dinner at the Irish Pub. Our dinner was fabulous, just as it was the first time we went. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Shepards pie, fish and chips, lamb chops, prime ribs, and a hamburger was what was ordered for our table. Some had chocolate cake and coffee for dessert and daughter and I opted for irish coffee. I would go back just to eat it was so good!
We decided to play some more after dinner. This time myself, hubby and daughter opted to play at the Coil bar. I was holding my own, and suddenly hubby screams out that he won $1,000! I couldn't believe it. He won on the same exact type of hand on Triple bonus poker as my daughter did earlier! I was thrilled for him of course. :-)
We left the Sands at 9:30pm. Exiting the garage was as easy as the entry. We were home in approximately 45 minutes! Hubby and I together came home with over $1,200! We like this casino much more than Mount Airy which is only 10 minutes from our house.
The drink service was wonderful on the floor once again, with very friendly servers.
My only regret is that I didn't get to go at the same time as "Benny." One of these days I am sure we will catch up with each other. I do have 9 entries for the car giveaway on Sept.7th. I might just go back then!
We sure will go back for another visit. I can't wait for the hotel to be built as well as the Sands "hooking up" with the Venetian/Palazzo (cards, comps) in Las vegas.
