Get ready Atlantic City!! Table games will be in PA!

I am watching the news right now, and table games will be coming to Pennsylvania! I don't know when the bill will be signed, but it is official.

I have mixed feelings about it because they agreed to it to balance the budget. They are counting money that hasn't been made yet.

Last night, a spokesman for Mt Airy said that it would take them 4-6 months to get tables up and running should the bill pass. I am guessing this has to do with getting qualified people to man the tables.

This should be interesting.....stay tuned!!

I assume Bethlehem will be online for tables a little quicker than the rest, since they've left plenty of room to do it. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

We were actually at the Sands on Friday night...it wasn't too crowded. We found parking in about five minutes, so I thought that was pretty good.

I agree MrsKruse, hubby and I were just discussing that last night. I think the Sands will have them up and running as soon as the "powers that be" go through all of the red tape.

IMO, I do think they saw this coming and made provisions for it. I have to wonder, will the casinos remove the electronic table games? I say yes, hubby says no. My thought is that is takes up quite a bit of space, where they can put more VP in (there aren't many back in the smoking section at the Sands) or slots. Also, it wouldn't seem to make sense, as I would think they want the people at the tables rather than an electronic ones!

One thing that Atlantic City will still have over PA casinos is, "no last call." No alcohol can be served after 2am. in PA.

Sue:

good point.

but you know what? I kinda like the drinks that

finally end for the night idea . .

drinking for so many hours (and of course the smoking that goes with that) is not the healthiest

of hobbies to persue. If we start 'partying' at , say 7:00 pm - -boozing til 2:00 is quite adequate . . .don't you think? c'mon- 7 hours of

tequilas could kill ya...no?

I agree with your logic. However, when my daughter and I used stay at Mt Airy (when they gave us a comped room) we would take a break and go up to our room for awhile. Sometimes we would go back down around 11pm/midnight. Security actually walks around and takes your drink away from you at 2am on the dot! It doesn't matter to them if it was sold to your at 1:45am or not. Personally, I think once they sell it to you, they should let you finish it.

Other than that, the 2am cut off isn't a big deal.
