Bowpicker operates out of an old tug or fishing boat, and doesn't have any inside seating. If you like the idea of fish & chips, I've never been disappointed at Rogue Ales, out on Pier 39 at the east end of town. That might have something to do with the good brews that I usually have with them though. The clam chowder there is one of my favorites too.

The Bowpicker operates out of an old "bowpicker", the term used for small commercial gill-net fishing boats with their reels and nets at the front (bow) of the boat. Sorry, no inside seating!!

Bowpicker is great but is not a restaurant! The Bridgewater Bistro is excellent if you want a full service meal with amazing views of the Columbia Rjver. Ship Inn also has great fish n chips and is a local favorite with pretty views of the river. Clementes, T Paul's Urban Cafe, Silver Salmon Grill and Rogue Public Ale House are more favorites of ours in Astoria.
