Are you speaking of the Amtrak station at BWI, or in downtown Baltimore (Penn Starion)? There are a variety of hotels near BWI with free shuttles to and from the airport. Not sure that any pick up at the BWI Amtrak station but there is free shuttle service offered by the airport to and from the BWI Amtrak station. So, if you are arriving at that Amtrak station, you could take the free shuttle to the airport and from there pick up a hotel shuttle to a BWI area hotel.

Every hotel that has "BWI" and/or "Airport" in its name will likely have a free shuttle. The BWI Amtrak station usually isn't a regular stop for the shuttles, but most should make the extra stop there if you call the hotel once you arrive. If you need a ride to the BWI Amtrak from your hotel, usually you just need to ask the driver.

I've stayed in half of them around BWI over the past 15 years and virtually all of them have an airport shuttle and I completely agree with tubman ---- as long as you make it clear with the hotel, they should be able to pick you up at the Amtrak station. You might get "second-priority" to the airport though, as BWI will be their main stop. More guest traffic there.

When I've asked to be dropped off at Amtrak, in the shuttle (leaving an airport hotel), the drivers will usually say they have to drop off the BWI people first ---- so plan your schedule around that.

I've stayed at the Sheraton, Westin, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Aloft, Hampton --- and a collection of other ones (some not so good). If you look on Expedia or Orbitz or Hotels.com or any of the 3rd-party sites, you can get a list of "airport hotels." Best to pick ones that are at least 3 stars though. I've stayed at some 2.5 stars that are pretty basic and a few do not have a shuttle.

All the good hotels surrounding the airport, from Linthicum Heights to Hanover should be able to meet your transportation needs. The last one we stayed at was Candlewood (north of the airport -- shuttle service) a few months back, but there are so many to choose from.

If you find a hotel around BWI that you like, just look at the list of options. Airport shuttle should be in there. Call them before you book to ensure they would also service Amtrak.
