Baltimore trip with our 13 yr.old

We are taking a weekend bus trip to Baltimore for 2 Red Sox/ Orioles games in May. Trip includes hotel stay at the Sleep Inn & Suites BWI and Seafood Buffet at Phillips. I read the reviews and hope we have better experience since it is paid for already. We also get Water Taxi transportation on Satuday.

I believe the bus will drop us off at the Inner Harbor on Saturday and we'll spend the day there before going to the game at night.

I would appreciate any suggestions/ recommendations for where to go, places to eat, what to avoid, tips for great local favorites, etc.

This will be our first trip to Baltimore. We have a 13 year old son. We prefer casual restaurants.

Thanks for your help!

If you have the time the Science museum and the National Aquarium both at Harbor Place are favorites of my kids.

I would second the Science museum and the National Aquarium. Maybe even the zoo. Also, I've always wanted to check out the "duckie tour". There is a boat on wheels that gives you a tour of down town baltimore by land and sea. I've seen it around town while driving downtown but have yet tried it out. I do know that their ticket stand for the tour is located in the inner harbor.

If you guys are sports fans definitely check out the Sports Legends Museum right outside the stadium. It's really well done and showcases much of Maryland's sports history. Buy a pass for the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum (discounted if you get both at the same time) and enjoy a little bit of Americana. The Babe Ruth house is about a 10 minute walk away from the stadium. Just follow the large white baseballs painted on the sidewalk.

Check out the main Orioles gift shop on Eutaw, right past Boog's BBQ. My son & I were there last year and noticed Brian Roberts leaving the store after signing autographs. Nobody except us noticed him and he was happy to take photos with us and talk a little baseball. Get there early to see if someone is signing!
