great food, quiet ambience, in/near Baltimore inner harbor?

We'll be staying at the Marriott for one night. We're somewhat elderly, so not looking for a "happening" kind of place. Hoping to find very good food in a quiet (though unstuffy) atmosphere. Preferably would like to be able to walk to dinner rather than drive or taxi.

Thank you for suggestions.

Which Marriott? There are two in the downtown Baltimore area.

Our Marriott reservations are for the one in the Inner Harbor.

I'd look into the Charleston, pricey but we have always enjoyed it.

If you don't mind walking a couple of blocks you are near little Italy. I've eaten at la Scala and it was really good.

Thanks for continued postings.

What's Germano's like in Little Italy? (We don't like southern Italian cooking, but we love northern. I've heard it's northern. Wondering how good it is and how the atmosphere compares to some of the other restaurants that've been mentioned.)

I would highly recommend Germano's in Little Italy. Wonderful Northern italian cuisine

I saw that you asked about Roys in another post- definitely a good pick... you are also close to Oceanaire, and Cinghiale (their homemade tortellini is delicious). Little Italy is close, Amiccis is my favorite- never disappoints. There is also a very good, quaint little restaurant in Fells Point that caters to an older crowd called Henningers. It's not far, but if you don't want to take a long walk, you may want to take a $3 cab ride.

Above posters are right about those restaurants.

I've lived near both Little Italy in NYC and Bal'more and can honestly say I've had better Italian food in Bal'more than NYC's Little Italy.

FYI- There is nothing "quiet" about dining at Roy's.
