Help with our hotel choice

2 ladies staying 3 nights. We don't want to rent a car. Looking at booking a package with River St. Inn possibly for the hotel. We would like to be in a great location for walking to Bay Street, see parks and squares, walk for meals, etc. Don't mind some kids but we will be kid free and looking for some r & r so not looking for hotels that cater to families with kids if that makes sense. If there are other hotels you'd recommend with better location for walking everywhere in same or lower price point please advise. Staying in May. Thank you for any help.

River St. Inn is in a great location to be near restaurants, historic buildings, River St., City Market, parks and squares. Hampton Inn is in the same area and also has Southern charm in the common areas. Great time of year to come to Savannah.

We've stayed in different hotels in the historic district and have found the River Street Inn to be very nice and great access to both Bay Street and River Street without having to use the stairs outside as there is an elevator inside the building. Also, access to Tubby's and Huey's Restaurant without having to go outside if the weather is bad. We've also liked Planters Inn on Reynolds Square and both seem to have a limited number of children as opposed to many of the other hotels in the area. Just our opinion.

River Street Inn is fine. I prefer to book directly with hotel vs packages. The only drawback is poor soundproofing in the original section. Not a problem in the additional section they added later.
