one day in Jan

We, at 60+, will be driving my dad's car to Florida for his 4 month stay so I have little control over the timing. We are hoping to carve out one full day in Savannah, a place I have always wanted to see. I am not so concerned about the weather since we start the trip on NH. But, if you had only 1 day what would be your suggestions...and please feel free to include food recommendations as well.

thank you

Take a trolley tour first, to get an overview and a history run down, then walk the Historic District.

Eat lunch at Ms Wilkes and pick up dinner at Angel's bbq and eat it in the square.

January is a slow tourist time, so if the weather smiles on you, it is a great time to be here.

Is Ms Wilkes open in January? I thought it was closed for their vacation time then. Did this change?

If I'm not mistaken Mrs Wilkes is closed in Feburary.

The best single thing to do in Savannah is probably to just walk down Bull Street from Bay to Forsyth Park. And you'll want to streatch your legs anyway.
