Thank you to some nice people

I was in Savannah on New Years Eve on River Street. It was dark and I didn't see these steps. I fell and badly sprained my ankle. One girl came up to me with a bag of ice to help me. Another guy, an EMT, brought me an ace bandage, wrapped my foot, and gave me advice on how to heal it. I just wanted to say a thank you to those people who helped in case they happen to read trip advisor.

I just happened to be checking out the Savannah forum. We're visiting in February. I am very touched that you took the time to thank some people for coming to your aid. I hope your ankle has healed. Those steps are trecherous!

It is great that people came to your aid. I have always found the people of Savannah to be most helpful. Also, I advise anyone even people that walk religiously and in great shape to be careful when in Savannah. I also take a walking stick with me and it has been a lifesaver when trying to manuever the cobblestone streets and steps.

It was on River Street and it was after dark so a person should be especially careful.

It was very nice of those two people to help me. I didn't ask anyone for help. They saw that I needed help and just came to my aid. That was very very kind and I appreciate it very much. I offered the one man money for the ace bandage, but he said no, which was again very nice. I thought it was nice to post this on the forum also to let visitors know that there are some kind people in this city.

A walking stick is a good idea. There was nothing to grab onto when I was falling.

Glad you found some good samaritans!

The cobblestones on River St. are hard enough to walk on, but the steps up to Bay St. are tough!

River Street was closed because it was New Year's Eve. To get back up to Bay Street so that I could go back to the hotel, I had to crawl on my hands and knees because I could not put any weight on my foot. So I had to crawl up the steps to Bay Street.
