Johnson Sq and Hampton Inn

Can someone please tell me how close Johnson Square is to the Hampton Inn Historical District? Considered booking the Savannah Dan walking tour and noticed it starts at Johnson Square at 10 am. Need to make plans on getting there on time.

I haven't booked the Hampton yet, just leaning toward it. Looking for a nice place within reasonable walking distance to all the must sees that includes a breakfast. (We like to have breakfast at the hotel before heading out for the day). Any other suggestions for a place. I can get the Hampton for less than $150 on priceline.

I am thinking of bidding on priceline for a 4 star but I have never done that before and makes me a little uneasy not knowing the hotel you will get. Would love to get the Avia though.

The hotel is only a couple of blocks from Johnson Square. The location on Bay Street is well located for all the standard tourist activities. Personally I'd spend most of my time south of Bay, I'm not a fan of River Street.

Thanks Rand. We have decided to stay at Marshall House instead. Wanted to stay in a place unique to Savannah instead of a chain hotel. We have never visited the city and I am so exicted about our trip. Now I have got to get busy planning out some activities since I have settled on a room.
