Parking

Hi

I'm staying at the planters inn on abercon street. Anyone know if there is parking around that area and if it is expensive?

Thanks

There is a private parking garage next door to it, but I do not know the rates

There is a public garage 2 blocks away, State St garage, it looks like its $10 day

Here is a link to a pdf that talks about parking in Savannah

If you are standing at the doorway at the Planters Inn, looking out on the square there's a parking garage to the right (the one the PI uses) and one to the left. There's street parking on the streets in between and around. You are surrounded by parking.

Weekend parking on the street is free, but they charge during the week.. There are time limits in the area for street parking during the day.

Discount parking passes can be purchased at the Visitors Center. One day is $7 or 48 hours is $12. These can be used in the public parking garages and on the street but not in private parking areas. It's worth it if you have a parking garage nearby or street parking. You have to make sure if you're going to be there over 48 hours that you move your car and purchase an additional ticket. They will only let you purchase one 24 or one 48 hour pass at a time.

I stayed at the PI a few months ago and yes, there are garages on either side of the front door. Very cheap compared to Boston rates, no worries
