Day trip to Charleston?

HI - we will be in Savannah for a few days. Is it possible to take a day trip to Charleston to visit some plantations? How long is the drive?

Very easy, 2 hours like Steve says. Go for it, then come back to Savannah! Enjoy

It's an easy drive. You might want to stop at Old Sheldon Church ruins just off 17. The light there is lovely anytime of day. Look for the signage as you approach the turnoff to Beaufort.

With only one day, you'll want to look at Magnolia, Middleton and Drayton Hall plantations, since they are near each other. You can comfortably do 2 in a day. If it's hot you'll want to tour early.
