Restaurants

Will be in Savannah for 4 days in May. What are some "must eat at" restaurants? Pretty much like all kinds of food.

Why not run a search on this forum. This is probably the most frequently discussed topic.

Our favorites are Vinnie Van Go Go's for pizza, Sand Fly BBQ, Zunzi's, Boar's Head, and Mrs. Wilkes. For a really good lemonade, Parkers.

Vinnie Van Go Go's for pizza & people watching at City Market. Plenty of shops restaurants, open air seating & live bands from country to rock. A few good restaurants on River Street including The River House Restaurant & The Chart House. Pink House is also very popular. Here is a link for some but not all restaurant menu's.

Just click on the recommended restaurants on the top right. Coming from Indy you might want to try some real Southern cooking by going to Mrs. Wilkes.

Have a look at the Crystal Beer Parlor for someplace casual but with good food and an interesting dining room.

What about a restaurant with good food but that is suitable for a five-year old girl as well. I have read mixed comments about the Pirate House both in terms of quality and child-friendliness. Any thoughts on it? Thanks.

We went to the Pirate House once and brought our young adult kids. No big deal, kind of touristy but a little nicer than we thought it would be. Personally, I would go back there before I'd head to some of the spots on River Street or to the Crab Shack. But to each his own.

Went to the Pirates House recently & it has been the same for 50 years. OK food, touristy, great for kids & always in need of repairs or updating. .

Alligator Soul. Expensive but very good. The restaurant is located on the lower level.

Green Truck Pub and Zunzi's are great for lunch.

Leoci's
