read the things to do and restaurant tabs and then come back with specific questions. Without knowing you and/or your group it is impossible to know what you will love or hate.

1st take a trolley or walking tour to get an over view of the city. After that you can check things out you like closer. The HD is only 1 mile sq so you can walk to most everything. City Market at night for food, people watching & live music. Restaurants - A few blocks away is the Pink House, very popular with tourist. Plenty of restaurants in the downtown area. If you go to the restaurant section of TA there is a filter for what type of restaurant you might prefer as far as cuisine, price & area of the city.

Echo what SavannahBruce said in first taking one of the tours to get an overview of the downtown area and historic district. Our favorite is Ogelthorpe Trolley Tours because we like the initial non-stop 90 minute narrated tour and then you can go to whatever area you are most interested in. Others like the Old Town trolley tour where you can get on/off on the initial tour. The downtown parks/squares are easily walkable and are a delightful way to explore in more detail.

If you have a car, go out to Fort Jackson and Fort Pulaski as well as take in Bonaventure Cemetery.

we are staying at the ellis inn. it was a hotwire deal so I hope it is ok. I know it got mediocre reviews but it was economical for downtown so that is good. We have heard mixed reviews about Lady and Sons but we decided to try it on sunday when they have the buffett. Thank you so much for your help.

Sorry if i'm late to the game, but City Market is great for restaurants. For breakfast you can't miss the Goose Feathers bakery. River St has a lot of good bars and most let you take your drinks to go (just watch the cobblestone street!). Tybee Island is also worth a visit, you can get the shuttle bus there for like $3-4/ each way.

I'll agree with the Trolley, City Market (great in the afternoon!), and strolling the squares in general. Savannah is also touted as the country's most haunted city, so if you're interested in that, you might consider taking one of the evening ghost tours a must.
