I am going to visit the area this week and thought since it is legal where can I get it? I am only there one night so any help is appreciated.
I don't think any non-medicinal dispensaries have been set up in Washington state. I believe that the state government has yet to work out some of the permit/licensing issues, etc. Like Colorado it will be all over the news when that happens.Edited: 13 March 2014, 08:35
While it is now legal for adults over age 21 to possess a limited amount of marijuana for recreational use, right now there is no place to buy recreational pot legally in Washington. Licensed retail marijuana shops should begin opening in late spring or early summer 2014.
For visitors, be aware of current rules for purchase, possession, and use.
Here are some FAQs from the WA state Liquor Control board:
The first licenses for retail sales were issued last week, a total of 3 for the whole state so far (hundreds of applications filed.) Next week you're out of luck.
Just to add, most hotels are also smoke free (meaning no pot) and smoking in public is still illegal (as is drinking in public).
