Colorado River Discovery Float Trip-7:30am or 1pm?

Hello! We're planning to go on the Colorado River Discovery Float Trip this month.

Which is a better time to take quality pics of the river and Canyon..7:30am trip or 1pm trip?

Thanks for your help.

You'll get good pics all day long. The river winds its way through the canyon so you'll be in and out of shadows.

Personally, I'd do the morning trip. It will be cool when you start but get warmer as the sun rises.

Agree with RedRox, take the 7.30 AM trip - better light, more comfortable. It's still hot down on the river at this time of year, plus the winds tend to kick up in the afternoon. Do make advance reservations for the tour - just because it's after Labor Day doesn't mean it's off-season yet :)

It also depends on when you are going in Sept. We are going on 9/22. I checked www.wunderground.com for Page on that date, and the avg high is 79 degrees. Talked with the rafting company office about the temps in the canyon, and they said it is about 3-5 degrees warmer. We went with the afternoon trip for 2 reasons--first was our schedule, and second it will be chilly early in the morning as the avg low on that day is 54. So if you are going late in the month, I don't think afternoon temps will be a factor, but if going soon, it may still get plenty warm in the afternoon.
