Bad Subject: Recent "Float Trip" Accident

I'm wondering if it's been determined what went wrong when reportedly, 3 of the 13 people drowned while on an outfitter's Snake River excursion. The national story had virtually no details, but it was described as a "float trip" not whitewater--was that even accurate?

It was also reported that before Friday's accident only three people have drowned in the last 56 years within the park's borders. I am sure there will be more details given later , but by all accounts so far it appears to be a scenic float trip.
