More Fires

The Knoxville "News Sentinel" is reporting more fires in Wears Valley and the evacuation of Laurel Branch Subdivision. We need to wish them all some RAIN....This breaks my heart.......

Oh no, not again. I know we are suppose to get rain mid week and I hope the Smokies will too. Our family's camphouse on the river burned last week. It is so dangerous right now. Much too dry.

Ya know, when we were driving home on Saturday and Sunday, as we drove close to Chattanooga and then on to Knoxville, we smelled smoke a couple of times and even saw a little way off the road, so that doesn't surprise me. Everything looks so very dry.

We've had several wildfires around the Chattanooga area over the past few days.....most of which appear to have been deliberately set. What fools we have!!!

We are now officially over 7.5 inches below average in rainfall for the year, and this is supposed to be our rainy season. We are in for a long hot, dry summer, I'm afraid, with lots of fires.
