If you could only do three things?

If during your week in gatlinburg you could only do three things, what would they be. Will be there June 2-10th from Tampa,Fl and really just want to relax most of the week in my hotub. But I would also like to spend a few days capturing the best of The Smokies,

Suggestions?

Drive through Cades Cove....pull off somewhere along the way and have a picnic. ( A must see ! )

Drive the Roaring Fork Motor trail....pull off and hike to Grotto Falls.

Drive over the mountain towards Cherokee, visit the Mingus Mill, stop at Oconaluftee Visitors Center, tour the pioneer farm...then Mingo Falls.

( that is, if you arn't including eating at all the favorite restuarants !! )

1. Cades Cove -

I would rather be in Cades Cove than anywhere else in the world! We usually go there several times per trip.

2. Laurel Falls Trail -

We always do this trail on our way to Cades Cove. We see bear almost everytime. We go early in the morning to beat all of the crowds.

3. A Sunrise over the Smokie Mountains -

We get up really early, stop at the Donut Friar for chocolate covered cake donuts, and head into the park. According to how much time we have, we either drive to right past Newfound Gap to an overlook, or drive up to Clingman's Dome parking area and watch the sunrise over the mountains.

1. Spend a day going to Cades Cove and Roaring Fork with a picnic at any place in the Smokies.

2. Spend a day at Dollywood.

3. Spend a day shopping till we drop, then go rest, maybe take a dip in the hot tub or pool, then go to a show, either Dixie Stampede for dinner and show, or maybe to Apple Barn, afterward go to Comedy Barn

I always enjoy the Craftsman's Fair in Gatlinburg. There's lots of unique items, good food, and usually some great free entertainment to enjoy while eating lunch.

Dollywood is a must see each time.

Cades Cove to renew my spirit and appreciation for all that has gone on here through the years.

1. Cades Cove with hike to Abrams Falls. Be sure to start early! (traffic gets REALLY bad)

2. Drive to Clingmans Dome and watch sunrise/sunset. Take hike out to Andrews Bald.

3. Climb Chimney Tops---it's great! Be sure to take your time and actually climb up to the top on the rocks.

BTW, would early June be the time period when rhododendrens usually bloom? I can never remember. If so, Chimney Tops would be superb!

Peddler Steakhouse- Amazing Steaks and Service

ask for seating beside window

to have water view.

Shopping- Especially in Gatlinburg at the Village

cobblestone like pathways to shops.

The Christmas Village in Pigeon Forge

is the largest amount of christmas merchandise

anywhere. Beautiful.

Not sure about picking a third I guess it would be taking pictures

and relaxing while looking at the mountains.
