We are starting to plan our vacation for next summer and have never been to the smokies. We would like to go tubing, not rafting. Can anyone recommend the best place for this?

I agree that the Little River in Townsend is probably the "closer" location to do this if staying on the TN side of the mountains.

It will all depend on the amount of rain we get next spring, however. This summer basically was a disaster for tubers thanks to the drought. Water levels weren't high enough to do much good.

If you have small children or even not Greenbrier is really fun. Its on 321 or East Parkway.. Only about 5 miles from downtown Gatlnburg. Its in the National Park. Signs on right befor bridge.
