weather 1st week of april?

We are coming down the 1st week of april and were wondering what the weather is usually like-dont want to have trouble climbing the steep mountain roads to get to our cabin, thx

April is one of those months that can be "iffy" with the weather. Might be warm and sunny or might be cold and rainy or even snowy in the higher elevations.

You'll just need to check out the forecast a little closer to time for leaving, but only a 5-day forecast will be accurate enough for real planning.

I would say normally, highs are in the upper 60s or low 70s and lows are in the 40s or 50s. Precip is common during that month in normal years.

Kat clubs fan is right you just do not know! Last year Easter weekend it snowed a little in Gatlinburg.

There was so much snow and ice on 441 all the way threw the park was closed but opened Sunday. Beautiful pictures! Roaring Fork had beautiful ice sicles. A horse in Cades Cove had ice hanging on mouth, felt so sad for him.
