Me and some other online friends figured it out this way a month or so ago, using $4 per gallon. It is a 52% increase but that only comes out to $14 each way. NOT BAD as I thought it would be. So we will eat burgers one night instead of steak. This also doesn't include any "driving around" gas, just strictly there and back.
Am I figuring this correctly? This is about our vacation.

We will be driving say approx 350 miles one way. My car gets 35mpg so that would be 10 gallons of gas. Right?

Okay, let's say last year gas was $2.60 per gallon so $2.60 x 10=$26.00 for gas for the trip one way. This year let's say it will be $4.00 per gallon (probably will by June) so that would make $40.00 for the trip one way. Only a $14 increase.

What's the percentage of increase? 53%?

I make no claims to be any good a math what so ever. Someone correct me if that's not right.
Well that prediction that it will not be $4. by June might be wrong!

On Wed in Townsend I paid $43.04 for between 11 and 12 gallons. The reciept does not say how many and I do not remember exactly but know it was over 11. The gas light was on and it is a 12 gallon tank.

In sevierville Fri. it was $3.80

Same day in Joelton Tn (next to Nashville)$3.84

So in my little car it was about $30. one way.

We did see it at $3.99 in Cherokee or Maggie Valley.

Some places in Nashville it is $4.11

What thread is that site that calculates it in?
