Tunes & Tales Hits the Streets

Back by popular demand, Gatlinburg's third annual run of Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales is under way and continues through Aug. 9th. Tunes & Tales is an eight-week street performance event featuring costumed musical performers, storytellers and artisans pertraying time periods as far back as 1800.

Performers arrive nightly at 5pm via horse-drawn wagon in the center of town and disperse along the downtown parkway for an evening of entertainment and storytelling until 10pm. The Back Porch Cloggers, Spring lizards, White Oak Flats, Miss Nan, Whittlin' Joe, Annie the Quilter, Animal Mac, Hammer & Strings, elma the Spinner and Zeno the Gatlinburg Bear also make regular apperances.

We really enjoyed this while we were in town earlier this week. It was great walking on the parkway and hearing wonderful music and seeing the cloggers.

This was great! We saw several little bands, but we didn't realize their were other kinds of performers. Oh, well. Something to look forward to for next year!
