Hi Kaye: email Bob/Carey to get that info, or call the office: 1-800-720-6978, Bob@greatoutdoorrentals.com for the answers to those questions. I haven't stayed at these two cabins, but know about At Stag's Leap, At Wilderness Ridge and Mountain Memories !! with Great Outdoors.

Hi Kaye:

Probably too late now, but for future reference, there is a beautiful new three bedroom cabin called Big Bear Retreat in Smoky Cove Log Home Resort in Pigeon Forge. Just go to www.smokycovechaletandcabinrentals.com

and click on three bedroom cabins, then click on Big Bear Retreat.

I did notice that the office photo on their web site is a different building than last year. I also noticed that there are quite a few cabins missing from when we were looking a year ago. Many new ones have been added. Could they have been bought out or changed hands?????

We stayed with this company in October 2008 and we said we would never stay with them again. I called to ask about firewood and Bob got a nasty attitude with me and told me it was at the cabin. When I told him there was no firewood at the cabin he said he would send some out right away. It took 2 days to get the firewood and then he sent enough for two days, we had the cabin rented for eight nights so when I called to ask if there would be more firewood for the other nights I was told I would have to pay for the firewood myself. Lesson learned from this company, next trip I will look for another company or stay with family this go around.

I had a bad experience with them, too...I felt like I was annoying the guy if I called the office (such as to ask directions somewhere) and when some guy came out to get our trash, he also made my husband move out of the one parking spot for our cabin (up on a hilll) so he could park there for like 5 minutes (enough to just grab the trash). Besides that and the fridge taking forever to cool, we decided no more with this company. This was summer 2008....I am sure they used to be great with all the praise here, but I think must not be as much as they used to, unfortunately.

There is lots of cabin company's in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I've noticed that for example Bear Footin could be at one company and when you call another they might have a Bear Footin. I know one called Bear Footin is off Easy Street in Pigeon Forge. Not sure on the Retreat one.
